Gala (7 minutes) Invitation

For all the piano students who have been invited to perform in the 7 minute piano segment:

Congratulations.  You have been invited to perform in the Gala Concert on September 19.  There will be a seven minute segment of the Gala that will showcase the piano repertoire.  Your group was one of six groups chosen represent the piano repertoire.
Your group will have an opportunity to rehearse briefly in the Conference Center Auditorium on Sept 19.   The piano groups will rehearse from 2:00 until 2:30. There will only be a few minutes for each group.  You should arrive at 1:45 and plan to stay until 2:30.  Please allow time for parking and entering the conference center.
Please park in the place designated on the parking pass that you will receive with your family’s tickets.  Please order by Sept 9 to be guaranteed a parking pass.
You should also learn to sing the two all-instrument songs: “Thank You Dr. Suzuki” (our finale) and “Where Love is Deep” (our opening number).  Your teacher will give you the words and recordings so that you can practice at home.  You should also learn the sign language to the chorus of “Where Love is Deep.”
There will be an all-instrument practice for these two songs on September12 from 12:30 to 1:30 and another on September 19 from 4:00 to 5:30.  Please plan to attend both of these rehearsals.  You should arrive in the Conference Center Auditorium at least fifteen minutes early.  Please allow plenty of time for parking and entering the Conference Center.  You can park underneath the Conference Center.
On Saturday, September 19, there will be a dinner break at 5:30, right after the rehearsal.  You should bring your own dinner because there won’t be time to go to a restaurant.  You should be in your performance spot by 6:45.  You will want to come dressed in your concert clothes.  Concert Dress for the Gala is white shirts or blouses and black pants or skirts with black socks or tights and black shoes.
I can’t wait to see you at the Gala.
Hugs!
Linda Garner
