Accompanist Letter

Congratulations. Your group has been chosen to accompany one of the all instrument numbers for the Gala Concert on September 19.  I hope that you are excited for this opportunity.  I know that you are practicing hard so that you will be ready.

There will be an all-instrument practice for these two songs on September12 from 12:30 to 1:30 and another on September 19 from 4:00 to 5:30.  Please plan to attend both of these rehearsals.  Your attendance is critical. You should arrive in the Conference Center Auditorium 30 minutes early.  Please allow plenty of time for parking and entering the Conference Center.  You can park underneath the Conference Center on Sept 12.
On Saturday, September 19, there will be a dinner break at 5:30, right after the rehearsal.  You should bring a sack lunch because there won’t be time to leave the Conference Center.  You will eat in the Conference Center and be in your performance spot by 6:45.  Everything in your sack lunch should be disposable and water is the only drink allowed.

You will want to come dressed in your concert clothes.  Concert Dress for the Gala is white shirts or blouses and black pants or skirts with black socks or tights and black shoe.

On September 19, please park in the place designated on your parking pass.  You will get a parking pass with your family’s Gala tickets, if you purchase before Sept 9.
Twinkle accompanists should also learn to sing the two all-instrument songs: “Thank You Dr. Suzuki” (our finale) and “Where Love is Deep” (our opening number).  Your teacher will give you the words and recordings so that you can practice at home.  You should also learn the sign language to the chorus of “Where Love is Deep.”

If you are accompanying “Thank You Dr. Suzuki,” you should learn to sing and sign “Where Love is Deep.” If you are accompanying “Where Love is Deep you should learn to sing “Thank You Dr. Suzuki”.

We will also sing a bit of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I think we already know it.

I am excited to see you at the Gala.

Hugs!
Linda Garner
